Withdrawal of Old Currency notes.

09 11 2016

Sharing with you on the backdrop of the decisive move taken to withdraw old currency notes, rather than sounding partisan or biased let me go directly into the specifics.
Old Rs 500-1000 notes can be deposited into our bank account or exchanged in bank branches till 30 Dec 2016.Only Rs 4000 can be deposited or exchanged per day.
Strict monitoring of cash movement is envisaged at banks. Kindly do not accept cash from others as transactions are being monitored closely.
Cash withdrawal from bank account is restricted to Rs 10000 and overall Rs 20000 a week till 24 Nov 2016. However there isn't any restrictions on transfer via NEFT, RTGS,Cheque, Credit and debit cards.
Withdrawal from ATM is restricted to Rs 2000 per day till 18th Nov 2016 which will further go up to Rs 4000 from 19th Nov 2016.
To avoid inconvenience, old currency notes will be accepted for the first 72 hours at Government Hospital and it's pharmacy, Railway ticketing counters, Bus stations of Public undertaking, Aiine ticketing counters at airports, milk booths, crematoriums and burial grounds, oil & gas stations of Public sector Oil marketing companies.

Effect will be seen:
Purchase of gold via cash was restrictive and will further get restricted.#THiiNK expects gold prices to go down and correct bit from here.
Real estate sector has been witnessing lull and will further find it difficult in view of the restrictions on cash transactions. It is time for real estate investors to be cautious.
We will find more usage of debit and credit card and online banking facilities. Make sure your debit and credit cards are scratch proof or else get them replaced or upgraded through your service providers.
All our investments in financial instruments have happened without cash in equities, mutual funds, fixed deposits. We expect premium payments in insurance sector too eventually be stopped too.
THiiNK expects this occasion to be a great platform for UPI which I will subsequently explain.

Over the last 6 months the Indian Government has been attempting various innovative measures starting with:
VDS (Voluntary Disclosure Scheme) which started in June 2016.Which served the opportunity to disclose black income.
We had the launch of UPI system in August 2016. Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is a payment system that allows money transfers between two bank accounts using smartphone. It allows the customer to pay directly from a bank account to different merchants both online and offline without the hassle of typing the credit or debit card details, IFSC or NEFT code or netbanking or wallet details.
Last but not not the least the current withdrawal of 500-1000 currency notes.

Anything new will always present with some discomfort and thus move too will present us that. However at THiiNK we feel change is the only constant and has to be welcomed with open arms.

Till the next time,be happy and spread positivity
